The tour is awaited with great excitement - the Company's two previous US tours (California-New York 2005 and Washington 2007) were a sell-out.
The Bolshoi will start off its present tour in Berkeley, California, then proceed to Chapel Hill (North Carolina) and finish up in Washington.
At Berkeley's famous Zellerbach Hall, part of the University buildings, it will give five performances of Ludwig Minkus's La Bayadere. At the Carolina Performing Arts Memorial Hall there will be two performances of Minkus's Don Quixote and two performances of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. The tour winds up at Washington's John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Opera House, a venue well familiar to Bolshoi dancers, where there will be six performances of Adam's Le Corsaire.
