Tuuli Takala is a winner of national and international competitions (including International Hilde Zadek Voice Competition and International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, Vienna). She is one of the brightest singers among coloratura sopranos representing young generation. She has started her career at Finnish National Opera, continued at Semperoper Dresden, where she has leading roles at the moment. This includes La Contessa di Folleville (Il Viaggio a Reims by G. Rossini), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti, both are debuts of this season), Gilda (Rigoletto by G. Verdi), Olympia (Les contes d’Hoffmann by J. Offenbach), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier by R. Strauss), Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail by W.A. Mozart)...Tuuli Takala became known to the broad audience with The Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte by W.A. Mozart). Besides Dresden, she triumphantly performed in Berlin, Vienna, Essen, Klagenfurt, Toulon, Helsinki. And just recently won over Royal Opera House, Covent Garden with her signature role.
“Her top notes were spotless, yet there’s a lustrous tone to her more ‘normal’ soprano register that gave the character depth and a believable engagement with her rage” (Bachtrack.com, 05.11.2019).
Carlo Lepore is a famous bel canto opera singer and unrivaled interpreter of comic roles. He accounts for 20 parts in Rossini operas alone in his repertoire. Generally, he does not 'limit himself' to one part in opera. In Il Barbiere di Siviglia he portrays both Doctor Bartolo and Don Basilio with equal success. In Il Viaggio, Carlo Lepore sings all possible bass scores – debuted as Don Prudenzio, alternates with Don Profondo parts (Vlaamse Opera in Ghent and Antwerpen, 2011, 2012, gala concert under Alberto Zedda, same location in 2018) and Lord Sidney (The Cologne Opera, 2020).
He regularly performs at The Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and Teatro alla Scala in Milan, sings at Royal Opera House, in Paris, Rome, Turin, Madrid, Buenos Aires...The Bolshoi Theatre was lucky to have him as clumsy professor of archeology Don Pasquale in opera with the same title by G. Donizetti.
Pietro Adaíni returns to the Bolshoi (after his November debut in Il Barbiere di Siviglia as Count Almaviva), in order to appear as Rossini tenor. He performed a part of Il Conte di Libenskof in production by Damiano Michieletto on Rome Opera House stage (charming Cecilia Molinari – La Marchesa Melibea is his partner in both Rome and Moscow). He earned positive reviews while performing at Verona Philharmonic Theatre (Il Viaggio a Reims staged by Pier Francesco Maestrini). Critics noted his “beautiful timbre, ‘silky’ and higher-pitched” (mtglirica.com, 21 May .2017), “amazing fluency in upper register” (operalibera.net, 25 May 2017), “theatrical confidence and maturity” (ierioggidomaniopera.com, 22 May 2017).
