The Bolshoi Theatre has a long lasting relationship with Alexei Tatarintsev, Novaya Opera Theatre soloist. He made his Bolshoi debut as Philippe Fenelon ten years ago in the premiere of The Cherry Orchard (concert version). He later performed a part of Italian singer in opera Der Rosenkavalier by R. Strauss. In his recent years, he has been having parts of Ernesto (Don Pasquale by G. Donizetti), Rudolf (La bohème by G. Puccini), Il Cavaliere Belfiore (Il Viaggio a Reims by G. Rossini). He sings part of Count Almaviva at Novaya Opera Theatre. Last year he performed it at Savonlinna Opera Festival: “Sweet voiced tenor Alexei Tatarintsev as a Count demonstrated beautiful cantilena and confident fiorituras of upper notes”. (Kansanuutiset.fi, 8.07.2019).

It is the third time that the name of Ildar Abdrazakov appears in our repertoire this season. In September, he performed at much awaited opening of the Bolshoi season – he sang a part of the King Philip in opera Don Carlo. In October, he took part in the concert of Plácido Domingo A Life in Opera. Now, Moscow music lovers have a great chance to witness comedian talent of the artist. Ildar Abdrazakov sang a part of Basilio at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Bavarian State Opera – each time with tremendous success. “Ildar Abdrazakov stole the show as Don Basilio, giving us a splendidly devious exposition of the virtues of slander in La calunnia è un venticello”. (Bachtrack.com, 19.01.2011).
