Boris Godunov. Guest performers

Alumni of Bolshoi Theatre Youth Opera Program, Oxana Volkova built an impressive international career. The most significant steps for her became a long standing collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera, performances at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (Olga/ Eugene Onegin), La Scala (Santuzza/ Cavalleria rusticana), debut at The Salzburg Festival in 2018 as Polina (The Queen of Spades). She captured hearts of music lovers around the world as Carmen – from Moscow and Salzburg to Buenos-Aires and Tokyo. And in the last season, when she went onstage of The Zurich Opera House as Marina Mniszech (Boris Godunov), she gained acclaim from critics again: “Oxana Volkova got a real Russian timbre: dense and splendid” (mundoclasico.com,13 October 2020). “Her warm voice, filled with the right level of eroticism, was subtle and seducing” (Oper Aktuell, 20 September 2020).

It is a rare occasion for Hovhannes Ayvazyan in his stage career to perform in Russian opera. Broadly known as a “Verdi'' and “Puccini” singer, he performs at Oper Frankfurt, Teatro Massimo Bellini (Catania), Polish National Opera (Warsaw), Palm Beach Opera (Florida), Opera Festival at Arena di Verona, in Russia – at Mariinsky Theatre, Moscow theater "New Opera" named after E. V. Kolobov, The Tatar Musa Jalil State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. He performs parts of Radames (Aida), Don Carlo (Don Carlo), Alfred (La Traviata), Manrico (Il Trovatore), Don Alvaro (La forza del destino), Dick Jonson (La fanciulla del West), Calaf (Turandot), and part of Cavaradossi (Tosca), which he sings on stage at the Bolshoi.
