Winning one of the of the world's most prestigious international singing competitions Operalia, which took place in Lisbon in 2018, became a turning point in artistic career for Pavel Petrov, soloist of Opera Graz and Bolshoi Theatre of Republic Belarus. Young singer was awarded with First Prize and the Placido Domingo Ferrer Prize of Zarzuela.
Since the time, he performed leading tenor parts at Vienna State Opera (Nemorino/ L'elisir d'amore by Donizetti), Lyric Opera of Chicago (Tamino/ Die Zauberflöte by Mozart), Australian Opera (Ferrando/ Cosi fan tutte by Mozart) and was rated as one of the WQXR NYC Public Radio’s “40 Under 40” singers to watch.
Pavel Petrov debuted as Lensky on European Opera stage in 2015 – at Theater Kiel (Germany). He also performed it at The Romanian National Opera, Bucharest, at Stadttheater Klagenfurt, in Minsk and Graz. He sings it at Opéra de Lausanne in the current season.
