We also remind that the Bolshoi has become the second company to dance this version of Sergei Prokofiev's famous ballet. "One of the finest male dancers in the world," – wrote the observer of London Times after he saw Mr. Côté in this part during the tour of the NBC in London.
Guillaume Côté - a man of diverse talents, demanded dancer who performs at major ballet companies around the world. He is a promising young choreographer (he was also appointed Choreographic Associate at NBC) – but also well known to our audience. First, he participated in Kings of the Dance - a triumphant project of the Ardani Artists, not only as dancer and choreographer, but also as composer and pianist.
Recently, the acquaintance progressed at the international ballet festival "CONTEXT. Diana Vishneva", where the National Ballet of Canada has showed three performances. Mr. Côté surprised with his one-act ballet: he created a choreographic version of Being and Nothingness by Jean-Paul Sartre.
In 2012, Guillaume Côté was awarded La Médaille de l’Assemblée nationale du Québec, a prestigious award from the province of Québec for his work in the arts. Mr. Côté is also Artistic Director of the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur, one of the largest summer dance festivals in the country.
In 2018, he created the full-length evening Frame by Frame in collaboration with Robert Lepage. This ballet based on the life and work of Canadian filmmaker Norman McLaren. This project is a collaboration between The National Ballet of Canada, Ex Machina and The National Film Board of Canada.
