Biography

Born in Moscow. In 1996, he graduated from the actors’ faculty of Russian Academy of Theatre Art. In 2002, he graduated from the vocal faculty of the Moscow State Conservatoire (Yuri Grigoiev’s class). From 1999-2000, he was probationer and, since 2001, he was been soloist with the Bolshoi Theatre Opera Company.

Tours

Nikolai Kazansky tours in Russia and abroad. He participated in the International Pula-2000 Festival of Contemporary Music where he performed Yuri Butsko’s monoopera The Notes of a Madman.
In 2012, performed the part of Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor) at the Latvian National Opera. In 2018, Malyuta Skuratov (The Tsar’s Bride) at the Shanghai Grand Theatre (Bolshoi’s tour to China, conductor Tugan Sokhiev).
In March 2019, he took part in concert performances of Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Maid of Pskov and Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades (Bolshoi’s tour to France, conductor Tugan Sokhiev).
In 2020, he took part in concert performance of Pagliacci at the Zaryadye hall in Moscow (part of Tonio, Evgeny Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov).
