Not only followers all over the world are preparing for the long-expected #WorldBalletDay uploading videos with their pirouettes, but The Bolshoi Ballet stars are totally preparing too. Svetlana Zakharova, Maria Alexandrova, Artem Ovcharenko and Denis Rodkin shared their expectations of the upcoming live-stream from backstage of The Bolshoi Theatre.

This time the Company is to appear at the Lincoln Center Festival, New York.

The Bolshoi is about to present The Taming of the Shrew, a ballet specially created for its Company by the illustrious choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot. The superlative ballerina Bernice Coppieters and the eminent French writer Goncourt prize-winner Jean Rouand have participated in the work on the ballet.

In the UK-Russia Year of Culture 2014, when our theatres and even movie theatres are showcasing the best productions of leading English Companies, it is natural that London’s Royal Ballet should put in an appearance at the Bolshoi Theatre.
On the Bolshoi Theatre Main Stage the Royal Ballet will present a programme of one-act ballets (17 & 18 June) and one full-length ballet Manon (20 June, 2l June [at 1 and 7 p.m.], and 22 June).

As per tradition, the Bolshoi Ballet Company will be performing at the Opera House of Washington’s John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Bolshoi’s Opera Company is to give two concert performances at the Theater an der Wien on 28^th (The Tsar’s Bride) and 29^th (The Golden Cockerel) April.
