Biography
Antonina Vesenina was born in Voronezh. She graduated from the Voronezh State Academy of Arts (class of Natalia Savitskaya). In 2010 she joined Saint Petersburg State Chamber Musical Theatre Saint Petersburg Opera where performed the roles of Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Lucia in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia.Since 2011, Ms. Vesenina has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. In 2014 she made her debut in the Mariinsky as The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and performed the role of Rosina in the premiere of Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. Her debut as Queen of Shemakha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Golden Cockerel took place in February 2015. Also in her repertoire: Gilda (Rigoletto), Mademuaselle Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirektor), Clorinda (La cenerentola, in concert), Olga (Fedora, in concert), Giulia (La scala di seta), Elisa (Il re pastore, serenata by W.A. Mozart), Maria Mironova (The Captain’s Daughter, in concert).
She participated in different concerts of the Academy of Young Opera Singers in Great Britain, Italy, Austria, France and Spain. Moreover, she has taken part in master-classes given by Elena Obraztsova, Larisa Gergieva, Grayr Khanedanyan and Gegam Grigoryan.
She performes as a guest soloist at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf and Komische Oper Berlin (Germany), where she sang a part of The Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte.
In April 2016 Ms Vesenina with the grand success performed the role of The Queen of Shemakha in new production of The Golden Cockerel at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (directed by Dmitry Bertman).
Antonina Vesenina has performed at the Staatsoper Hamburg, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Komische Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Theatre du Capitole Toulouse. She has collaborated with such conductors as Valery Gergiev, David Syrus, Marc Piollet, Axel Kober, Gabriel Feltz, Pavel Smelkov, Christian Knapp, Mikhail Senkevich, Sergei Stadler.
