Елена Гусева

Biography

Born in Kurgan. Graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory (class of professor Galina Pisarenko).
Since 2011, she has been a soloist of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.
In her repertoire: Tatiana (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky), Lida (Moscow, Cheryomushki by Shostakovich), Antonia/ Stella (Les contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach), Mimi (La Bohème by Puccini), Micaëla (Carmen by Bizet), Natasha Rostova (War and Peace by Prokofiev), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni by Mozart), Emma (Khovanshchina by Mussorgsky), Cio-Cio San (Madama Butterfly by Puccini), Donna Leonora (La forza del destino by Verdi), Liza (The Queen of Spades by Tchaikovsky), Jenůfa (Jenůfa by Janáček), Aida (Aida by Verdi),Desdemona (Otello by Verdi).

In the 2016/17 season Elena Guseva made her house debut for Hamburg State Opera, singing Yaroslavna in Borodin’s Prince Igor. The season 2017/18 brought several important debuts, such as Mimi (La Bohème) with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Polina (The Gambler by Prokofiev) with the Vienna State Opera and Liza (The Queen of Spades) at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
In the season 2018/19 she appeared as Nastasya in Tchaikovsky’s The Enchantress new production of the Opéra National de Lyon (director Andrij Zholdak, conductor Daniele Rustioni), returned to the Vienna State Opera, performing the title role in Verdi’s Aida, she ended the season performing the role of Desdemona (Otello) in a new production by Adrian Noble (under the baton of Myung-Whun Chung) again on the stage of Vienna State Opera.

Additional appearances included recitals within the framework of Trecastagni International Music Festival (Italy), Beethovenfest in Bonn, September Music Festival in Moscow. She also took part in Moscow International Chamber Music Festival “Spring in Russia”, Richter Music Festival in Tarusa, and Crescendo Festival.

At the Bolshoi Theatre she appeared at first as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), September 2019, and she has since returned there to sing the title part in Iolanta.
