Марина Виотти

Biography

Marina Viotti was born in Switzerland, her parents both being musicians, and grew up in France.

Being curious by nature she did not only study classical music in Vienna and Lausanne but also explored jazz, metal or chanson. In 2019 she won the “Best young singer” award at the renowned International Opera Award.

Her repertoire includes roles like Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Isabella in L’italiana in Algeri, Melibea in Il Viaggio a Reims, Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda (Donizetti), Adalgisa in Bellini’s Norma, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Olga in Eugene Onegin, to name but a few. She appears on important stages like the Bavarian state opera Munich, Semperoper Dresden, La Scala Milan, Liceu Barcelona, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, Opéra national du Rhin, Theater Luzern, Zurich opera, Lausanne opera and Arena di Verona in 2020 (Rossini Gala).

2020/21: Despite the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic Marina was able to give her house debut at Bilbao opera in Il Turco in Italia, her overwhelming role debut as Muse/Niklausse in Les contes d'Hoffmann at the Liceu Barcelona.

Marina is a passionate concert and recital singer, working with renowned conductors and orchestras. She loves to create own programs like her recital “Love has no borders” with which she was touring from Switzerland to Brazil and Japan.
