Азер Зада

Biography

Graduated in singing in 2010 at the Conservatory of Baku, in Azerbaijan, his country of birth.
After moving to Italy, he attended the Academy of Lyric Art in Osimo.
Since 2009 he is a soloist at the Azerbaijan Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and at the Opera Studio of Baku and in the meantime he attended numerous masterclasses including those with Raina Kabaivanska, Magda Olivero, Leo Nucci, Renato Bruson and Renata Scotto.

In 2012 he began a series of concerts in Italy, France, Austria, Slovakia, Russia, England, United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

In 2014 he is admitted to the Teatro alla Scala Academy and he is chosen for the roles of the Principe di Persia in Turandot under Riccardo Chailly, Borsa in Rigoletto under Nicola Luisotti and Fante in I due Foscari conducted by Michele Mariotti and directed by Alvis Hermanis.

He debuted at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari as Cavaradossi in Tosca for the young.

Among his engagements of 2016/17 season: Macduff in Macbeth at Teatro Verdi in Salerno under Daniel Oren, Verdis Requiem with Orchestra Verdi in Milano under Jader Bignamini and Beethovens IX Symphony at Petruzzelli under Günter Neuhold.

In 2017/18 he performed the roles of Don Jose (Carmen) at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Rodolfo (La Bohème) and Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) at Teatro La Fenice, Cavaradossi (Tosca) at Teatro Municipale di Reggio Emilia, and Alfredo (La Traviata) at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.

Highlights of the season 2019/20 include appearances as Pinkerton/ Madama Butterfly (Teatro Massimo Bellini, Catania), Don Jose/ Carmen (Teatro di Giuseppe Di Stefano, Trapani), Radames/ Aida (Teatro Dante Alighieri in Ravenna), Rodolfo/ La Bohème (Teatro Municipale in Piacenza).

In 2019, he made his Bolshoi Theatre debut as Alfredo (La Traviata). In 2020, he sang Rodolfo (La Bohème).
