Елисей Косцов

Biography

Graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
Began his career as a journalist in 2005 at ELLE Russia, later joined Vogue Russia.
2007 — fashion editor at the launch of the Russian version of a French magazine Citizen K, soon appointed fashion director.
2009 — fashion director at Marie Claire Russia.
2012 — fashion director at Port Russia.
Today — fashion editor at Snob. On a regular basis covers world fashion trends and reviews fashion shows in Paris, London, Milano, New York for Russian fashion magazines. Has worked as a stylist with world-famous photographers and creative fashion designers (including Tom Ford, Ellen von Unwerth, Benoit Peverelli, Simon Robins, and others).

Since 2009, Kostsov has been collaborating with one of the most successful Russian artist collectives AES+F (Tatiana Arzamasova, Lev Evzovich, Evgeny Svyatsky, Vladimir Fridkes). He designed costumes for The Feast of Trimalchio (in which he also played Icarus) and Allegoria Sacra video installations. Allegoria Sacra, which premiered at the Multimedia Art Museum of Moscow (MAMM), received the Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award 2011 for Best Media Project and Kandinsky Prize 2012 for Project of the Year.

In 2011 was the concept creator and photoshoot costume designer at the production of posters for Lera Auerbach’s ballet The Little Mermaid (choreography and scenography by John Neumeier) and Jacques Offenbach’s opera The Tales of Hoffman (directed by Alexander Titel) at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.

Worked as costume designer on Save the Orchid (directed by Vladislavs Nastavševs for Gogol Center, 2019).
