Biography

Born in Valencia, Roberto Fores Veses studied orchestral conducting in the Accademia Musicale Pescarese with Donato Renzetti and has taken Master Classes rom Neeme Jarvi. He earned his Master Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with Leif Segerstam, and also studied with Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Jorma Panula.

He has been the principal conductor of Orquesta Clasica de Valencia, leading productions as Stravinsky’s Histoire du Soldat, Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors and Cosi fan tutte. He has conducted Salieri’s Axur Re d’Ormus and Schauspieldireketor at Helsinki Conservatory; La Finta Giardiniera at the Svenska Teatern of Helsinki; Clemenza di Tito and Andrea Chenier at the Finnish National opera, and Falstaff at the Opera de Lyon as assistant conductor. He also conducted La Boheme at Orvieto Opera Festival, Salome at the Turin Opera.

He has taken part in the International Music Festival of Galicia and has also worked as assistant conductor with Gianandrea Noseda.
He conducted Spanish Radio-Tv Orchestra, Orquestra de Valencia, Asturias Symphonic Orchestra, Sibelius Academy Symphonic Orchestra, Congress Orchestra of St. Petersburg, Jyvaskyla Sinfonia, Helsinki Conservatory Orchestra, Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Parnu City Orchestra.

Awards

1st prize and the special prize at the Luigi Mancinelli conducting competition in Orvieto (Italy, 2006).
3rd prize at the Evgeny Svetlanov Competition (Luxembourg, 2007).
