Biography

Graduated from the Tula State Musical College (1990) and the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (1995, under Prof. Petrov).
In 1995, the singer, still a student, joined the Helicon Opera theatre of Moscow, where he performed major baritone parts such as Onegin (Eugene Onegin), Eletsky (The Queen of Spades), Police Chief (The Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Amonasro (Aida) and Ford (Falstaff). In 1992-96, he also was as a soloist with the Moscow Kremlin Choir.

The singer joined the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow in 2001, where he sang the following parts:
Demon (Rubinstein’s The Demon)
Grigory Gryaznoy (The Tsar’s Bride)
Ibn-Hakia (Iolanta)
Prince Igor (Prince Igor)
Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana)
Germont (La Traviata)
Gianni Schicchi (Gianni Schicchi)
Nabucco (Nabucco)
Rigoletto (Rigoletto)
Talbot (Maria Stuarda)
Telramund (Lohengrin)
Tonio (I Pagliacci)
Christ (Respighi’s Christus)
Court Boyar (Boris Godunov)
Speaker of the Temple (Die Zauberflöte)
He-Cat (Valdgardt’s The Cat’s House)

In 2012 made his Bolshoi Theatre debut as Mizgir (The Snow Maiden). In the same year he performed the role of Grigory Gryaznoy (The Tsar’s Bride). In 2013 he sang the title role in Nabucco. In 2016 - the title role in Rigoletto.
