Сергей Иоров

Biography

Born in Novgorod in 1988. At the age of nine he became a finalist of the Rachmaninov International Competition of young pianists (Novgorod).

In 2000 he entered the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory where he started studying with Prof. Alexander Mndoyants. He continued his studies under Prof. Mndoyants at the Moscow Conservatory which he graduated in 2012 with a degree in piano performance. He has also attended the Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes with Profs. Dmitri Bashkirov and Emanuel Krasovsky.

Won the first prize at the Russian National Pianists Competition in Ryazan in 2002. In 2011 he received the 4th prize at the Lagny-sur-Marne International Piano Competition (France) and the 3rd prize at the Art UNESCO festival-contest in Moscow.

While student of the Conservatory he started working at the vocal faculty at the Music College of the Moscow Conservatory as a collaborative pianist and then worked at the International Slavic Institute in the same capacity and also taught piano.

Since September 2013 Sergei has been an artist of the Young Artist Program of the Bolshoi Theatre. In October he performed in the 3rd concert of the series “All the romances by Tchaikovsky” in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theatre.
