Pyotr Markin

Biography

Was born in Plast (Chelyabinsk district).
In 1997 he graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Art (faculty of musical theatre, studios of Alexander Titel and Igor Yasulovich). Performed the role of Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre (1996-1999).

In 1997-2000 he was an actor with the Grisha Gurvich’s Bat Cabaret Theater.

Since 2007, he has been an actor with the SounDrama Studio directed by Vladimir Pankov, and took part in following productions: Gogol. Evenings. The May Night (Kalenik), The Fair at Sorochyntsi (Gritsko), The Eve of Ivan Kupala (Korzh), Orpheus Syndrome (Mayakovsky) and also The War (Vladimir), An Old House (Lecturer).

In 2008-2009 he was probationer at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre (Galina Vishnevskaya’s class).

Participated in musicals: Nord-Ost by Ivashchenko and Vasiliev (Korablev; Theatre Center at Dubrovka, 2000-2002), An Ordinary Miracle by Gladkov (Wizard; 2010-2011), The Phantom of the Opera (Joseph Buquet, Don Attilio, Monsieur Firmin - for the first time in world practice in one performance; Moscow, 2015-2016), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Sondhaim (title role; Moscow Theatre of Drama and Comedy on Taganka, 2016);
and in theatrical performance Buratino (Karabas Barabas; Alexei Rybnikov theatre, 2005-2007).

Since 2017 he plays in the solo performance Mask and Soul. Dedication to F.I. Chaliapin ... (House-museum of Maria Ermolova).

At the Bolshoi Theatre participated in the premiera performances of the operetta Candide by Bernstein as Pangloss / Narrator / Martin (theatrical concert performance, conductor Tugan Sokhiev, 2018).
