Biography
Since his debut in 1995 at the Teatro La Fenice in Venezia conducting Il Barbiere di Siviglia and at the Wiener Staatsoper with Andrea Chenier and his collaboration with Luciano Pavarotti in concert performances, Maestro Armiliato began a successful career that brought him in the leading opera houses in the world, including Metropolitan in New York, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Opéra National de Paris, Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro Real de Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Arena in Verona.The Italian Maestro also performs extensively in North America, particularly with the Metropolitan Opera in New York where, since his debut in 1998, he has conducted: Andrea Chénier, Anna Bolena, Il Trovatore, La Bohème, Stiffelio, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Sly, Aida, Ernani, Turandot, Rigoletto, Cyrano de Bergerac, Francesca di Rimini, La Fille du régiment, La Rondine, La Sonnambula and Lucia di Lammermoor.
Among the engagements in european theatres: Tosca, Rigoletto, La Traviata,Turandot and La Bohème (Bayerische Staatsoper); Aida, Madama Butterfly and Tosca (Arena di Verona); La Traviata, Andrea Chénier and Tosca (Wiener Staatsoper); La Fille du Régiment, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Otello (Paris Opéra); La Fanciulla del West and La Traviata (Zurich Opernhaus); La Rondine (ROH Covent Garden). Marco Armiliato conducted the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala for the Expo 2015 opening concert in Piazza Duomo in Milan.
